Unmyeong Theatre

Terms of Service

Effective date: October 30, 2026

This is a translation of the Korean original provided for your convenience. If the Korean original and this translation differ, the Korean original prevails.

Article 1 (Purpose)

(1)These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the film-making service offered on unmyeongtheatre.com, the website operated by Unmyeong Theatre (운명극장) ("we" or "us"), as well as the rights and obligations of us and our users.

(2)We operate this service in the Republic of Korea, and these Terms apply no matter which country you are in.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. "Film" means a vertical video about 40 to 50 seconds long that we make with artificial intelligence (AI) after receiving an order, based on the information and photos you enter. The last scene of the film (the ending card) shows your type name. The narration and subtitles are in the language you choose, and the scenes are set in the city you choose.
  2. "User" means a person who uses our service under these Terms, and "member" means a user who has signed up through a social login or email verification.
  3. "Order" means a member choosing a product, entering information and photos, and requesting payment.
  4. "My Films" means the page where members check their order history and finished films.

Article 3 (Posting and Amendment of These Terms)

(1)We post these Terms, together with our business name, representative, address, phone number, email address, business registration number, and mail-order business registration number, at the bottom of the website.

(2)We may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws, including the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions and the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.

(3)When we amend these Terms, we announce the content of the amendment, the reasons for it, and the effective date on the website at least 7 days before the effective date. However, if the amendment is unfavorable to users or concerns important matters (such as prices, refund standards, the storage period and scope of use of films, or the handling of personal information), we announce it at least 30 days before the effective date and also notify members separately by email or by a notice in "My Films".

(4)Amended Terms apply to orders placed after the effective date. Orders formed before the effective date remain subject to the Terms in force at the time of that order.

(5)Members must agree to the amended Terms the first time they sign in after the effective date in order to place orders. A member who does not agree to the amended Terms may delete their account, and even without agreeing, they can still watch and download films they have already ordered during the storage period.

Article 4 (Membership and Age Requirement)

(1)You become a member by signing in with one of the login methods we offer (such as Apple, Google, Kakao, LINE, or email verification) and then agreeing to these Terms and to the collection and use of your personal information.

(2)When you sign in with email verification, Google, Apple, or Kakao, we link the login methods that share the same verified email address into a single membership. A login method that does not provide an email address, or that provides an unverified email address, creates a separate membership, so you can see films ordered through that method only by signing in with the same method.

(3)Persons under 19 years of age cannot become members. When you order, we check that you are 19 or older.

Article 5 (Orders and Formation of the Contract)

(1)The contract is formed when a member enters information and photos in the order form, agrees to the required items, completes payment, and the payment is approved.

(2)On the payment screen, we show the price (including taxes) and the estimated time until the film is finished. The estimate may change depending on how many orders come in, and we keep showing the remaining time in "My Films".

Article 6 (Delivery and Storage of Films)

(1)We start making the film as soon as the payment is approved and deliver the finished film in "My Films". Members can watch and download the film for 30 days from the day it is finished.

(2)After 30 days, we delete the film and the information you entered. Deleted films cannot be restored, so if you want to keep the film, you must download it before then.

Article 7 (Nature of the Film: Entertainment and Creative Purposes)

(1)Films are made with generative artificial intelligence (AI). The people, scenes, script, and narration voice in the film are all created by AI, and the film is not footage that films or records real people or events.

(2)The film is a creative work that uses Saju (information calculated from the date and time of birth according to Myeongri, the traditional East Asian study of fate) as material for its story. Saju and Myeongri are not disciplines whose effectiveness has been scientifically proven, and we do not guarantee that the content of the film matches your actual personality or future.

(3)Please do not make important decisions about matters such as education, employment, marriage, investment, or health based on the content of the film.

(4)The person in the film is newly created by AI with reference to your photos, so the degree of likeness, facial expressions, and backgrounds may differ from film to film.

Article 8 (User Obligations)

You must not do any of the following. If we confirm a violation, we may stop production or restrict your use of the service.

  1. Entering another person's photos or information without that person's consent (for the compatibility film, you may enter the second person only if you have that person's consent)
  2. Making a film with the face of another person, such as an entertainer or celebrity, or impersonating another person
  3. Entering photos of children under 14 years of age
  4. Using a film for obscene purposes or to defame others, or selling or distributing a film commercially
  5. Using the service in an abnormal way or interfering with its operation

Article 9 (Rights to the Film and Scope of Use)

(1)Members may keep the finished film for personal, non-commercial purposes, post it on social media, and send it to others.

(2)Rights to the photos and information that a member enters belong to the member (for the compatibility film, to each of the two persons concerned).

(3)Rights to the service used to make the film and to the materials we provide (such as fonts, background music, image styles, and the design and brand marks of the ending card) belong to us or to the original right holders. Members may use these materials together with the film within the scope of paragraph (1).

(4)Because the film is made with AI, it may not be protected by copyright law. If we acquire copyright or any other legal right in the film or any part of it, we transfer to the member all of those rights other than rights in the materials described in paragraph (3).

(5)We use the film only to the extent necessary to make and deliver it, to store it during the storage period, and to remake it free of charge. We do not use a member's films or entered information for promotion or AI training without the member's separate consent.

(6)The film is a video made with AI, and our brand is shown on the ending card. Members must not remove or alter this mark to hide the fact that the film was made with AI.

Article 10 (Payment and Refunds)

(1)Prices are shown in Korean won (KRW), and payment is made using the payment methods we offer. Payments made with a Korean payment method are charged in Korean won. If you pay with a card issued outside Korea or another overseas payment method, Dodo Payments may charge the displayed price converted into the currency of your country, and the currency and amount to be charged are shown on the checkout screen. In this case, the exchange rate set by your card issuer or payment provider and overseas transaction fees may apply separately.

(2)If you pay with an overseas payment method, such as a card issued outside Korea, Dodo Payments processes the payment as the Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments' terms of sale also apply to that payment, and Dodo Payments sends you the receipt. We refund you through Dodo Payments to the original payment method in accordance with these Terms and the Refund Policy.

(3)Cancellations and refunds of orders follow our separate "Refund Policy".

Article 11 (Changes to and Suspension of the Service)

We may temporarily suspend the service for reasons such as equipment maintenance, failures of external services (payment, AI models, and so on), or natural disasters. If we cannot complete an order that has already been paid for, we refund the full amount in accordance with the Refund Policy.

Article 12 (Account Deletion)

(1)Members can delete their account at any time from the "Delete account" menu in "My Films". However, if you have an order that is awaiting payment or in production, you can delete your account after that order is finished.

(2)When you delete your account, we immediately delete your member information, the information you entered, and your films. Payment records that we are required by law to keep are stored separately for the period set out in the Privacy Policy. Film usage records are kept separately for 1 year from when they were recorded so that we can handle refunds and disputes.

Article 13 (Compensation for Damages)

If we cause damage to you intentionally or through negligence, we compensate you for that damage. However, we are not liable for damage resulting from your violation of these Terms or from your own fault.

Article 14 (Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction)

(1)If you have a complaint about using the service, please let us know by email at help@unmyeongtheatre.com. We will look into it and reply promptly.

(2)We answer inquiries in Korean or English.

(3)If a dispute arises between us and a user, mediation may be requested from the Korea Consumer Agency, the Electronic Transaction Dispute Mediation Committee, or the Content Dispute Resolution Committee.

(4)These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any lawsuit is to be filed with the court that has jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

Article 15 (Language of These Terms)

We write these Terms in Korean and show them translated into several languages so that users can read them easily. Translations are provided to help you understand these Terms, and if the Korean version and a translation differ, the Korean version prevails.
